Best way to save money while travelling abroad?
ByI’m going to the UK next month. I made myself a budget but it just crossed my mind that I will face some banking fees.
So what is the best way to spend money:
A- Visa Debit Card withdrawals
B- Visa Credit Card ($2.5 fee per transaction)
C- Withdraw most money before I travel
Any other suggestions?
don’t take a huge amount of cash with you. To answer the question you need to ask your bank and find out the exact fees. Here in the UK it is a really bad idea to take money out on a credit card; not only is there a fee but you start paying interest on it from the moment it leaves the cash machine. If it is the same in the US then don’t do it.
maybe your bank has a tie-in with a UK bank and so using those aTMS could be cheaper.
there’s no escaping exchange fees totally.
