Whats thev best way to save money for a big investment like a house down payment. Any useful ways of saying money so i dont spend it as soon as i get my pay check ?

The best way is to pay yourself first. Decide how much you want to save from each paycheck and put it into the bank first, then live on what is left.

I’m going to the UK next month. I made myself a budget but it just crossed my mind that I will face some banking fees.

So what is the best way to spend money:

A- Visa Debit Card withdrawals
B- Visa Credit Card ($2.5 fee per transaction)
C- Withdraw most money before I travel

Any other suggestions?

don’t take a huge amount of cash with you. To answer the question you need to ask your bank and find out the exact fees. Here in the UK it is a really bad idea to take money out on a credit card; not only is there a fee but you start paying interest on it from the moment it leaves the cash machine. If it is the same in the US then don’t do it.

maybe your bank has a tie-in with a UK bank and so using those aTMS could be cheaper.

Every Paycheck give yourself $50. Everything else goes into the bank account and shouldn’t be touched (except for bills, etc.) Keep a spreadsheet of all your spending.

i am terrable at saving money, i am an impulse buyer and usually if i am out and i have money, i will spend it. i feel naked without it though, i guess you could say i am a shopaholic. what can i do to save my money.

ps. i dont really like using the bank, i have 1 bank account because one of my jobs is direct deposit, but i get written checks for my other job.
